The operating status is unusually important here. On 6 June 2026, the local newspaper Sekundė, followed by the AINA news agency on 9 June, reported that Wake Panevėžys had not opened for the season. Its previous land-use agreement had ended, while the operator and the municipality were still discussing the legal basis for continuing.
On 27 July 2026, the park's official website remained online with booking categories and a regular weekly timetable. It did not clearly say that the course had opened for the 2026 season, however, and no reliable later reopening notice could be found. Do not treat the displayed timetable as proof of operation: contact the business and obtain confirmation for your exact date before paying or travelling.

The principal facility is a cable wakeboarding course. An overhead line pulls the rider across the water without a motorboat. Floating features enable experienced riders to practise elements, while the course was also used for introductory sessions.
The official website continues to show booking categories for kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and pedal boats. These offer different levels of intensity: wakeboarding demands more coordination and safety preparation, while a paddleboard or pedal boat is usually chosen for a quieter exploration of the reservoir. Until the operating status is confirmed, none of these rentals should be assumed to be available.
How the park came to the Ekranas reservoir
Panevėžys City Municipality made approximately 2.2 hectares available to the operator for a wake park in 2019. The course began operating that year and became one of the city's most visible active summer attractions.
Its arrival coincided with wider improvements along the southern shore of the Ekranas reservoir. The municipality created walking and cycling paths, recreation and sports zones, pontoon approaches, and other public infrastructure. The commercial course and public waterfront are connected but not identical: the municipal beach and some paths remain separate public spaces even when the wake course is closed.
The Ekranas reservoir setting
The Ekranas reservoir is an impoundment of the Nevėžis on the eastern side of Panevėžys. Municipal information gives its area as about 85 hectares and dates the dam to 1979. Its broad water surface and green banks create an unusually open horizon within the city.
For summer 2026, the municipality prepared its official beach with buoys marking the bathing area, toilets, and scheduled water and sand testing. This does not make the whole reservoir or wake-course zone a bathing area. Follow signs on site and distinguish the marked public beach from the sports equipment area.
