A connected home for Lithuanian culture and travel

· Lietuva.love

We put time and care into Lietuva.love for people who want to know Lithuania better: to rediscover a song heard at home, explain a celebration to their children or choose somewhere to visit at the weekend. Our website brings cultural reading and travel ideas together, with a clear path from an initial question to the next discovery. Everything is free to read.

Our website partner Web Aloha helps make this possible, having created Lietuva.love pro bono and continuing to maintain it. We chose Astro for the website, with the reader’s needs guiding the work: well-organised topics, comfortable browsing and ways to share Lithuanian culture across languages.

Find the story behind a song or celebration

The folk-song collection offers more than a search for a familiar title. Songs are grouped by genre, so you can browse wedding songs for a family celebration or work songs for a lesson about life in the past. Explanations alongside the lyrics help you understand the occasions and customs behind them.

The ethnographic calendar follows traditions month by month. If you are curious about Lithuania’s midsummer celebration, Joninės, start with the calendar, open the celebration guide and follow the related traditions. Source links offer a way to read further, whether you are preparing a lesson or exploring a family custom together.

Turn a weekend idea into places to explore

The travel map lets you search by name and filter places by category, ethnographic region or municipality. For a family day out, you might look for museums in your chosen area, then explore nearby nature trails. Open the individual place guides to decide which stops suit your group.

Reading about a place before visiting can add another dimension to the trip: a landscape becomes somewhere with a story. Before setting off, check opening hours and visiting arrangements on the venue’s official website.

Share Lithuania with family and friends abroad

Lietuva.love is available in Lithuanian, English and Russian, with language links connecting corresponding published pages. Grandparents reading Lithuanian and grandchildren more comfortable in English can explore the same subject. Send a place guide to a friend abroad in a language they understand, then discuss ideas for their visit. Localised navigation and search make it easier for them to keep exploring on their own.

For a closer look at Lithuania’s linguistic variety, try the Lithuanian–Samogitian translator. Enter a familiar Lithuanian word or short sentence to explore a Northern Samogitian version. It is a learning aid, and Samogitian speakers can suggest corrections.

Continuing to care for the reading experience

Comfortable reading, security and dependable operation remain priorities in the website’s ongoing care. The Google loading-speed checks returned strong results for both desktop and mobile; report screenshots are below. Clear explanations and links between related topics provide a stronger foundation for useful material to be discovered through search and AI search tools.

Begin with a song, an upcoming celebration or a place on the map. When something catches your interest, share it with someone you would like to explore Lithuania with.
