About Lietuva.love
Lietuva.love is a modern bilingual home for Lithuanian culture and travel, connecting songs, folklore, mythology, traditions, food, crafts, architecture, and places in one searchable resource.

Why this exists
Lithuanian cultural knowledge online is rich but fragmented across archives, academic publications, museums, protected-area websites, municipal resources, and older pages. Lietuva.love brings that knowledge into a clear, fast, and accessible platform for people in Lithuania, diaspora communities, travellers, teachers, researchers, and anyone who wants to understand the country through more than its best-known landmarks.
Culture and travel in one connected archive
Visitors can move from folk songs and sutartines to mythology, narrative folklore, seasonal traditions, food heritage, crafts, vernacular architecture, ethnographic regions, and practical place guides. Topic pages, search, related guides, and travel data connect material that would otherwise remain scattered across separate collections.
Research readers can verify
Guides draw on relevant institutional, archival, academic, museum, protected-area, and official local sources. References remain visible where possible so readers can check the evidence and continue learning. The editorial approach aims to distinguish well-attested information from regional versions, later interpretations, and claims that still require caution.
Two connected language editions
The English edition is not an automatic translation layer. Published English pages have readable routes, localized navigation, search and map data, and explanations adapted for international readers while remaining paired with their Lithuanian source pages. Lithuanian remains the deepest and fastest-growing archive as English coverage expands.
Travel discovery and a living language tool
The interactive map helps visitors search and filter places across Lithuania, while location records retain their source and verification context. The Lithuanian–Samogitian translator is a separate rule-based tool built around reviewed language data. Samogitian speakers can propose better words, forms, spellings, and regional variants for editorial review.
Who created and maintains Lietuva.love
Lietuva.love was created pro bono and is maintained by the digital agency Web Aloha. Web Aloha designed and built the website, its content architecture and bilingual technical system, search, interactive map, language tool, performance foundations, and quality checks, and continues to maintain and improve the platform.
A long-term project shaped with its community
Lietuva.love is designed as a growing public resource rather than a finished campaign. New guides, English editions, travel data, source updates, and translator improvements continue to expand it. Readers are welcome to suggest reliable sources, corrections, cultural material, places, translation improvements, and more accurate Samogitian forms.
