What you will see at Rabbit Valley
The park's central theme is the variety of rabbit breeds. Its official description counts more than 50 across the fenced 4.5-hectare grounds, ranging from Belgian and German Spotted Giants to French Lops, Vienna Blues, Angoras, Rex rabbits, and small decorative breeds. This is not simply a field with a few loose rabbits: it is an opportunity to compare markedly different body sizes, ears, and coats.
The name describes only part of the collection. The official website also lists red and fallow deer, Cameroon and Boer goats, sheep, alpacas, llamas, a camel, kangaroos, horses, a donkey, Watusi cattle, ostriches, pheasants, and other birds. Animal numbers and the mix naturally change, so ask before travelling if seeing one particular species is important.
Visitors may be able to stroke or feed selected rabbits, but that is not permission to touch every animal independently. Offer only food provided on site, never put a hand through wire mesh, and accept when an animal moves away. Calm observation teaches a child about an animal's boundaries as well as its breed.
How a family farm became a visitor park
Triušiukų Slėnis opened on 7 June 2013. Its founders, Renata and Ramūnas Lamauskas, returned from Vilnius to their home region and gradually developed their rabbit-breeding activity into a place for visitors. In a 2020 LRT feature, the owners recalled that public curiosity encouraged them to expand the display.
The park grew by adapting rolling farm ground rather than by building an urban zoo. Wooden rabbit houses and enclosures stand in pasture, gravel and grass paths run between them, and simple outdoor play features and gazebos provide breaks. The result feels like an extended walk through a working family farm.
Regional visitor statistics show that its popularity goes well beyond online reviews. Utena's tourism information centre recorded 12,237 visitors in 2024 and 13,243 in 2023. It was the district's most visited attraction among the sites counted in those reports, so expect larger family crowds in the warm season, particularly at weekends.
Season, tickets, and payment
On 25 July 2026, the official website said the park received visitors from 1 April to 31 October, Tuesday to Sunday and on public holidays from 10:00 to 18:00. It was closed on Mondays and from November through March. Seasonal dates, holiday arrangements, or weather can alter a plan, so check the official page shortly before departure.
The same day's official price list charged €6 for children aged 3 to 18 and €8 for adults, while children under three entered free. A pony ride cost an additional €2. Prices can change, so base the family budget on the latest official information rather than an old directory.
The official site explicitly stated that bank cards were not accepted. Bring enough cash for admission and any extras instead of assuming an ATM will be available nearby. Groups and special occasions should call ahead because ordinary opening hours do not automatically include a private activity or reserved rest space.
Uneven ground, child supervision, and animal welfare
The valley is not level. Official visitor guidance asks everyone to walk carefully and requires adults to supervise children continuously. Discuss a pushchair route or mobility needs by phone, and choose closed shoes with grip, especially after rain.
Visitors must not frighten, tease, chase, or shout at animals, throw objects into enclosures, or damage anything on the grounds. Smoking, bringing alcohol, and arriving with a pet are also prohibited. These rules protect visitors and animals alike: crowds, sudden movements, and unfamiliar dogs can cause considerable stress.
Lithuania's State Food and Veterinary Service advises visitors to follow the keeper's instructions, never enter animal buildings without permission, and observe biosecurity measures. Wash or sanitise hands after animal contact and before eating. If you are unwell or have recently visited another farm, the owners may require additional precautions.
Finding the park and planning the day
Triušiukų Slėnis is at Girios g. 2 in Antalamėstė village near Saldutiškis. The official website coordinates, 55.3646, 25.82334, match the exact Google Maps place listing. Navigate to the attraction's own listing rather than the village centre because the final approach follows rural roads.
Allow at least 90 minutes for a brisk visit and closer to two and a half hours with young children, feeding stops, and a rest. On a hot day, arrive earlier and bring water, a sun hat, and protection from the sun; in cooler weather, an extra windproof layer is useful.
The outing can be combined with Lake Tauragnas, the Tauragnai Regional Museum, or the Palūšė and Ginučiai side of Aukštaitija National Park. Avoid packing the day too tightly, however: children often linger at one enclosure, and a calm pace is both more enjoyable and kinder to the animals.
