What the Chairs for Two are

Two tall chairs with metal frames and wooden seats stand side by side. They act as a playful forest lookout: the elevated seating position raises the view above nearby shrubs towards the Curonian Lagoon.

Public maps and travel listings also use the Lithuanian form “Kėdė dviems”. This page uses the grammatically standard name “Kėdės dviem” because no separate confirmed object title was found on the national park's official website.

Approach through Juodkrantė old-growth forest

The coordinate pin lies in the forest north of Juodkrantė, in the setting of the dendrological educational trail. Official information describes the trail as 1.6 kilometres long, formerly known as the Bloksberg Promenade, and crossing old forest and pronounced dune slopes.

There is no car road to the chairs. After reaching Juodkrantė, continue on foot, follow trail signs and the coordinate pin, and note your return direction at junctions. Mobile reception and positioning accuracy can fluctuate in the forest.

The view from the chairs

The principal view faces the Curonian Lagoon. Layered forest canopy fills the foreground, followed by a calm strip of water and the low horizon of the opposite shore.

Summer foliage can obscure part of the panorama, while damp or windy weather changes the atmosphere quickly. This is a brief, quiet stopping place rather than a tall tower or broad purpose-built platform.

Safe and low-impact visiting

The seats are elevated and a natural wooded dune slope descends nearby. Climb only when the structure appears stable and dry, do not push, and never allow more people to climb at once than the two seats are intended to hold.

Stay on existing paths and worn ground, never break branches to widen the view, and leave no litter. Returning becomes harder after dark, so plan the visit during daylight.
