A gallery conceived as one changing work
Terra Recognita is not a neutral white room with work simply lined along the walls. It is officially described as a constantly changing installation: Saulius Vaitiekūnas arranges objects, plinths, light, and empty space so the small interior behaves as one composition. The Latin name can be understood as recognised or known land. The gallery's motto, real, simple, eternal, captures its rhythm: there is little decorative noise, while the weight of stone, the surface of metal, and restrained form become the main actors.
Baltic stone, flint, and silver
Baltic Sea-worn stone is central to Vaitiekūnas's art. He does not hide it beneath elaborate finishing but studies its natural outline, fracture, colour, and marks of time. Flint, silver, and other metals introduce a joint, sign, or wearable scale.

The artist established the gallery in 2009 as a place to present and develop his work. That explains its unusual coherence: the selection, atmosphere, and original pieces offered for sale all emerge from one creative system rather than a chance grouping of artists.
