“Stumbras” Factory Museum is based on K. Būgos Street in a historic Kaunas factory complex. It is more than a display of bottles: the visit explains how the company, production technologies, labels, and industrial surroundings changed, while part of the complex is still used for production.
This is not a general drinks museum, but a focused space about one Kaunas company's history, objects, and production story.
A history beginning in 1906
Stumbras history reaches back to 1906, when Kaunas had State Wine Warehouse No. 1 between today's Bažnyčios and Girstupio streets. The museum's story also belongs to the city's urban and industrial development.
In 1948, Stumbras was merged with M. Velykis' liqueur factory and became one of the largest beverage producers in the Soviet period; later the company operated in independent Lithuania and exported its products. The museum treats these periods as historical layers rather than one unchanging tradition.
What the tour lets you see
The museum tour combines three parts: company and factory history, an explanation of the production process, and tasting. Displays can include historic labels, bottles, measuring vessels, production tools, archival photographs, and documents, so listen for the story around the objects rather than focusing on a drink alone.

The museum publishes Tuesday-Saturday hours of 10:00-20:00, but tour times should be arranged ahead. Tasting participants must be at least 20 years old, and a tasting room or snacks may be included in the price of a particular programme.
