Pakumulšis Pond, Pakumulšiai Pond Beach
A 40.89-hectare state-owned waterbody
The National Land Service's 2025 document identifies Pakumulšiai I Pond as a state-owned waterbody. It has code 30050101, and the plan gives its area as 40.89 hectares.
This is an artificial pond rather than a natural lake. An older municipal surface-water overview gives 34.4 hectares for Pakumulšiai, so figures from different years or broader contexts should not be mixed with the exact 2025 record for I Pond.
A recreation shore west of Kuršėnai
Pakumulšiai I Pond lies in Šiauliai District, on the Beržtvai village and Kuršėnai rural eldership side, about 3 km west of Kuršėnai and near Paringiai. The page pin marks the recreation shore, not the middle of the whole pond or an administrative centre.
The municipal infrastructure project describes changing cabins, an outdoor toilet, information boards, shelters, sport and leisure equipment, parking and a tidied shore with sand and a pier. These are project and object descriptions, so inspect the condition of each facility on arrival.
Sand, a pier and a reed-fringed shore
The shoreline is shaped by a broad pale-sand area, still water and a low wooden pier extending into the pond. Reeds grow along the water's edge, while birches, leafy woodland and open Šiauliai District farmland form the background beyond the recreation area.
Families may value the children's play space, while shelters, outdoor furniture and fire pits are described as part of the leisure setting. Wet sand, the pier and the water's edge are not places for unsupervised children, so follow local notices and check the depth before wading.

The Šiauliai District Public Health Bureau's 2026 monitoring schedule includes Pakumulšiai Pond among the district's bathing sites. The same schedule sets the 2026 bathing season, under Lithuania's natural conditions, from 1 June to 15 September.
Being monitored does not mean that the water is always suitable for swimming. Before entering, check the latest test result, local warnings and official information, and stay out if you see algal bloom, waste or other contamination.
What to know before you go
One or two hours is enough for a short stop, while swimming, play and a picnic deserve more of a day. Bring drinking water, a towel and sun protection because no permanent shop or food service has been officially confirmed at the site.
No general admission fee or fixed opening hours have been publicly confirmed. Park only in designated places, light fires only where allowed, take rubbish with you and remember that the present condition of facilities, shore and water may differ from older project descriptions or photographs.
