What Gargždai Youth Park is for
Gargždai Youth Park is an open town space for moving, playing, and meeting. The official Klaipėda District tourism description presents it as a place for everyone, while its name points more specifically to youth and active leisure. Grass, mature trees, sports courts, and youth-oriented infrastructure share one area.
This is not Gargždai Manor Park and not the whole of the wider Gargždai town park. The manor park is a separate historic space on the Minija slope, while Youth Park is primarily valued for its current sports, play, and gathering functions.
Sports and play zones
The park has a children's playground, basketball and beach-volleyball courts, outdoor fitness equipment, and other activity infrastructure. A municipal infrastructure document describes a 3x3 basketball court with 72 spectator seats, an upgraded beach-volleyball zone, new exercise equipment, and a renewed children's playground.
These elements work for different groups: some visitors can play basketball while others exercise or supervise children. Equipment condition, court availability, and access to a particular element can change, so follow on-site signs and do not treat the park as a permanently reserved sports hall.
The nine-basket disc-golf course
A public nine-basket disc-golf course was installed in the Youth Park area in 2019. The baskets sit among trees and grass, so a round involves more than throwing: players must read distance, branches, path directions, and the movement of other park users.
The disc-golf holes are part of the park rather than a separate Gargždai Youth Park address. Before throwing, check that no people or children are in the flight path. Shared use of the park matters more than finishing a round quickly when sports and play are taking place nearby.
The modular youth space
A municipal news item dated 13 August 2026 describes three modular houses joined by an outdoor terrace in the park. Gargždai Open Youth Centre activities are associated with the youth space. The small dark buildings are clearly visible from the green lawn and give the site a distinct contemporary character.
The same news item indicates that some works and landscaping were still being completed at that time. The modules' use, events, terrace, and access are therefore not permanent guarantees; check the centre or municipality before planning a specific meeting or programme.
Practical visiting at Gargždai Youth Park
This is an outdoor public space, and the official tourism page does not give a fixed ticket or opening schedule. Most of the area can be explored independently, but sports elements depend on weather, maintenance, and activities taking place. The town-level address does not identify a single entrance or a dedicated car park.
Allow about 1-2 hours if you want to try several zones or play a disc-golf round. Grass and wooden or metal structures may be slippery after rain. Do not take courts during organised events, supervise children, and leave the park in the condition in which you found it.
