Tapeliai Beach II is a specific Vilnius city bathing beach on Lake Tapeliai, in Tapeliai Landscape Reserve. It is not the centre of the lake and not Tapeliai Beach I, so use the full second-beach name when planning your journey.

The Institute of Hygiene profile uses the formal identity Lake Tapeliai Bathing Site II. Its monitored-water point at 54.7745, 25.4444 marks this second bathing site rather than the centre of the entire lake.

There are two separate bathing beaches at Lake Tapeliai. The first is described as a place for a quick dip, while the second is intended for a longer stay, barbecuing, and a walk.

Tapeliai Beaches I and II share the same lake, but their equipment, access, and parking arrangements are separate visitor details.

Tapeliai Landscape Reserve protects part of the lake-rich Antavilis glacial tunnel valley that stands out on the plain of the Neris old valley. The surroundings therefore matter as much as the water: the forest, terrain, and natural shore are part of the place.

The Institute of Hygiene's 2024 profile records an approximately 200-metre beach and a semi-natural shore dominated by sand, with occasional grass, boulders, and trees. It gives the bathing area's average depth as 1.3 metres and its maximum as up to 3 metres, so do not judge safety from the shore alone.

Stay on existing roads and paths in the reserve, do not make new descents to the water, do not drive across the forest floor, and take rubbish away from the beach area.

Piers, barbecues, and facilities for a longer visit

The beach has two piers. One is adapted for fishing by visitors with disabilities, and an accessible descent path is provided for visitors with reduced mobility. These are specific facilities, not a promise that every natural shore surface is level or step-free.

The large barbecue area has grills, tables, and benches. There are also changing cabins, toilets, bicycle stands, and outdoor fitness equipment with pull-up bars and parallel bars. Light fires only in the provided grills and leave the area tidy.

The nearest public-transport stop is Tapelių ežeras. A free car park is listed, but use marked spaces only and keep the access route clear.

Swimming and bathing-water monitoring

Vilnius environmental information identifies two bathing sites at Lake Tapeliai and assesses their water under the requirements of HN 92:2018. Chemical and bacteriological indicators are tested every two weeks during the bathing season, with repeat tests when irregularities are found.

Grinda regularly tests water and sand at the beaches it maintains and organises lifeguard work. Before swimming, check the latest municipal notices, flags, and on-site warnings because an earlier test does not describe the conditions on a particular day.

Do not jump from the piers, keep children within reach near the water, and leave the lake and timber structures during thunder or strong wind.

Walking around the lake and fishing

Grinda's Tapeliai I description lists a trail around the lake for walks and hikes. It is a natural woodland route rather than a continuous paved promenade: after rain it may include mud, roots, and slippery stretches, so wear shoes with good grip.

Fishing at Lake Tapeliai is subject to separate regulated-fishing conditions. The Ministry of Environment publishes rules about permits and catches, but the 2019 document does not replace requirements that may have changed later, so check the current rules before fishing.

The bathing beach, fishing spots, and reserve shore share one area. Keep fishing equipment out of the bathing zone, give other visitors space, and follow the signs at the site.
