Metal sculpture, a labyrinth, and Star Alley
The outdoor display brings monumental weathered-steel forms together with lawns and a pond bank. Some sculptures act as large marks in the landscape; others invite you to walk around them and notice how rust, daylight, and changing viewpoints alter the work.
The park presents interactive contemporary-art spaces, a children's labyrinth, and an area known as Star Alley. Figures of well-known people and animation characters are also part of the park's story; their meaning is easiest to appreciate while walking through the grounds.
The ceramics studio and a raku workshop
The Utena Tourism Information Centre's official education catalogue lists a 100-minute programme for pupils in grades 1-12. It presents the homestead, ceramics, a matchbox-label collection, the sculpture grounds, and the Aidas acoustic installation; participants can work with clay and try the wheel when that option is arranged in advance.
The workshop centres on the raku method. Participants decorate a cup, watch it fire in a kiln heated to 950 degrees Celsius, then see it cool in sawdust and wash it in water. Ceramics become a complete process here, from clay to a finished object that the participant can take home, rather than a display item behind glass.
Animals and a family day at the homestead
The park's character comes from its connection to a living homestead. The education description notes that the grounds represent a third generation of a teachers' family, and that visitors can watch, feed, and, with guidance, stroke domestic animals roaming the site. That makes the experience accessible to children whose interests extend beyond art.
A family can combine several activities: start with the sculpture grounds and labyrinth, continue into the studio, then leave time for animals, play spaces, and the garden.
