This explains the long table and chairs among the display cases and also sets the right expectation: it is not a large multi-storey museum. In the compact room, the provenance explained by a knowledgeable person matters more than architectural scale.
For the museum's first birthday in 2025, Olympic champion Valdemaras Chomičius and European champion Virginijus Praškevičius met the veterans there before coaching young players on the Sports Centre court. The occasion confirms the community role and activity a year after opening; it does not mean that either visitor is a Marijampolė athlete or that their belongings form a permanent display.
The official 2026 Museum Night programme in Marijampolė included the Sports History Museum at 1 Gamyklų Street among venues open free from 8 pm to 11 pm.
