Lithuania's dedicated sports history museum
The museum has operated in Kaunas Old Town since 1991, presenting Lithuanian sport from early organised physical education to contemporary championships. Objects are grouped by discipline and person, so follow the chronology slowly and read biographies alongside victory dates.
Basketball receives considerable space, but the display does not stop at the national passion. Football, handball, boxing, swimming, rowing, and other sports appear alongside Lithuanian sporting life in exile and deportation. Sport becomes part of social history rather than a list of results.
Trophies and athletes' personal objects
Wooden cases in the main hall contain awards, photographs, documents, clothing, and equipment associated with Olympians and European and world champions. Flags and suspended sports equipment turn the long room into a dense archive of sporting memory.

Boxing, circus, and family activities
A dedicated display honours four-time European boxing champion Algirdas Šocikas, known as the Gentleman of the Ring. Another gallery presents Jadviga and Jonas Ramanauskas's Lithuanian circus history collection, shifting unexpectedly from competitive sport to physical mastery and stage culture.
The museum also has a film room, sports education hall, and educational courtyard, with guided tours and programmes for groups. Families should choose a programme in advance because it may have a separate time and charge from general admission.

On 21 July 2026, the official site listed opening hours as Tuesday-Saturday, 10:00-17:00. Adult admission was €4, schoolchild, student, and pensioner admission €2, and a family ticket for two adults with one or two minors €8. Some categories entered free with valid identification.
