A short 450-metre loop
Published descriptions give the trail length as 370-450 m. A more detailed route measurement reports an approximately 450 m loop, a useful visitor estimate rather than geodetic precision.
Wooden boards cover the wet section and small bridges span the wettest points. The route returns to its start and normally takes around half an hour on its own.
Panels, benches, and wetland plants
Information panels introduce wetland plants, birds, and mammals. Visitor descriptions mention bilberry relatives, Labrador tea, lingonberries, and cotton grass, but plants should never be picked and visitors should remain on the boards.
Two rest areas and several benches allow pauses. The trail begins near a commercial leisure complex, so the entrance zone may be busy while the woodland is usually quieter.
Approach from the HBH complex
The clearest arrival point is the HBH complex at Liepų g. 23 in Žibininkai. The forest approach to the wetland trail can be almost one kilometre, bringing the entire there-and-back outing close to 3 km.
The coordinates mark the trailhead, not the main car park. Leave vehicles only in the designated complex parking and follow its map and signs.
Board condition matters more than season
Wet boards can be slippery even in summer, and storms may leave branches across the route. Wear shoes with grip, do not run, and wait at wider points when passing.
Suitability for pushchairs or mobility devices depends on board width, edges, and current condition. Although some descriptions call it accessible, confirm directly before a special trip.
