Druskininkai Snow Arena: winter all year
Druskininkai Snow Arena is the only year-round indoor skiing and snowboarding complex in the Baltic States. The operator presents it as a place where winter lasts 365 days a year: the indoor slopes keep snow regardless of outdoor weather, so you can ski even in hot summer.
The arena opened in 2011 and became an important sign of modern Druskininkai. Together with the water park opened earlier, it helped turn a traditional mineral-water resort into a four-season leisure centre attracting visitors from Lithuania and abroad.
Slopes and infrastructure
The complex has several slopes of different difficulty. Indoor slopes operate year-round, while an outdoor slope opens when the weather turns cold. Published information states that the main indoor slope is about 460 m long, and the whole complex covers roughly 8 ha. Skiers are served by lifts, including a chairlift and conveyor lifts.
Professional ski or snowboard equipment and warm clothing can be rented on site, so visitors do not need to arrive with their own gear. Beginners can take lessons with instructors, while experienced skiers value the chance to train at any time of year.
Aqua water park
Druskininkai's attraction offer is complemented by the separate Aqua water park in the town centre, opened in 2006. It is one of the largest spaces of its kind in the Baltic States, with about 30,000 sq. m of pools, water attractions, and saunas.
The water park has many different pools and saunas, water slides, and rest areas, making it popular with both families with children and adults who want to relax. Snow Arena and the water park are easy to combine in one visit to Druskininkai.
How to visit
Snow Arena operates year-round, usually without rest days. Tickets are typically sold by time session, and equipment and clothing can be rented on site. For one visit, allow 2-4 hours depending on whether you plan to ski or simply try the setting.
Opening hours, session rules, and prices change by season, so information found during research should be checked again on the official Snow Arena and water-park websites before travelling. The complex is across the Nemunas, close to central Druskininkai, and is easy to reach.
