Biržai Aeroclub is based on Veterinarijos Street beside Biržai airfield, in Širvėna elderate. For visitors it is a place to watch airfield life and, after arranging it in advance, take off above the Biržai surroundings for a bird's-eye view of the town.
This is not a conventional aviation museum with a permanent ticket desk. Its core is a working aviation-sport community, training, and sightseeing flights, so the available aircraft, flight time, and ability to receive visitors depend on the season, weather, and an advance arrangement.
Biržai's gliding story since 1968
Biržai Aeroclub was founded in 1968. The club has gliding, aeromodelling, precision flying, aircraft construction, veteran and senior, and junior gliding sections, so its work goes well beyond passenger flights.
The club organises Lithuanian gliding and aeromodelling championships, while its athletes compete at Lithuanian, European, and world events. Visiting during a competition can reveal more of the club's aviation life than an ordinary sightseeing flight, but event dates and spectator arrangements are announced separately each season.
