The Google pin at 49 Kauno Street identifies an active branch of Klaipėda's Immanuel Kant Public Library. Pelėdžiukas, meaning Little Owl, is the official name of the children's centre inside this building, not a separate owl sculpture or outdoor monument.

From a 1968 building to an 844-square-metre centre
The original library was built in 1968 and eventually ceased to meet modern needs. Reconstruction enlarged it from 367 to 844 square metres, created three floors of visitor space, renewed equipment, and improved accessibility. The project cost about two million euros, including 1.2 million euros from European Union funds.
The renewed branch opened as Klaipėda Public Library marked its centenary. Pelėdžiukas moved here from 11 Tilžės Street, bringing adult, child, and local-community services together under one roof.
