Beatričė's authentic home on A. Vienuolio Street
Beatričė's House is a small memorial apartment at 12-1 A. Vienuolio Street in Vilnius. Beatričė Grincevičiūtė lived here from 1971 to 1988, so the visitor enters a preserved domestic setting rather than a purpose-built museum hall and should take it in calmly.
Since 2025, the address has been one of four Vilnius City Museum branches. It should be distinguished from larger museums and from the Vokiečių Street 6 branch: the strength of Beatričė's House is the intimate apartment and its direct connection with Beatričė herself.
What the preserved interior conveys
The permanent display occupies two rooms and a corridor, while the interior was largely left unchanged after Beatričė's death in 1988. Furniture, a record player, books, artworks and everyday objects present the rooms as a lived environment rather than only a commemorative display.
Objects include music-listening equipment, Braille tools, furniture and visual-art works. The display is not large, so allow time for details and the museum staff's explanation instead of looking only for one famous object.
Beatričė Grincevičiūtė in collection context
Beatričė Grincevičiūtė was a prominent Lithuanian chamber-music performer and singer who lost her sight in youth. The apartment helps explain her daily life, musical work and independence, but it does not attempt to tell the whole history of Lithuanian music by itself.
Material connected with Beatričė's memory forms part of a collection of about 3,300 objects, including memorial, artistic, library, phonotheque and photographic materials, as well as letters and scores. Not all of this is displayed in the apartment, and the objects on view may change.
The third room and museum programmes
The apartment's third room can be adapted as a gallery, theatre, concert or education space. A visit may therefore be a quiet memorial experience on one day and a talk, music programme or family activity on another.

Beatričė's House is closed on Mondays, open Tuesday-Friday 15:00-19:00 and Saturday-Sunday 11:00-19:00. Maintenance, programmes or holidays can change these hours, so check the museum's latest information before travelling.
