AP galerija
AP Gallery in Užupis
AP Gallery operates in Užupis, in the Jono Meko Skersvėjis space, at 24 Užupio Street. It is a compact contemporary art gallery rather than a museum with a permanent collection, so the first impression comes from the atmosphere of the current exhibition and the works on display.
The current gallery is at 24 Užupio Street in Jono Meko Skersvėjis; older descriptions may still show 10 Polocko Street, so use the current address when planning your route.
What you may see
The programme presents painting, graphics, photography, sculpture and ceramics, as well as art books. Exhibitions are temporary, and one project may remain for about a month, so every visit depends on the season and the artists' programme at that moment.
Because the display changes, check the current artist and works before travelling.
Art tasting and gallery activity
AP Gallery presents a patented art-tasting format that can introduce art to an adult or children's group. It is a moderated experience rather than simply walking through an exhibition alone, so ask the gallery about the topic, date and group size.
The gallery and its online shop offer artworks, ceramics, books and other objects connected with the programme. Stock, consultation times and events can change, so leave room for flexibility if you hope to buy something or join a session.
Planning a visit to AP Gallery at Užupio 24
AP Gallery is open Monday-Saturday 11:00-19:30 and Sunday 12:00-17:00; holiday hours may be shorter. Check the exhibition running that day, and contact +370 616 19201 or vilma@apgalerija.lt if you are bringing a group.
Ordinary exhibition access and a free event should not be conflated: free entry during Vilnius Gallery Weekend applies to that particular event, while other exhibitions may have different conditions. The 11 bus route can be useful when planning public transport to a walk through Užupis.
Accessibility and gallery etiquette
The second floor can be reached from the street without steps, while the first floor has stairs and no lift. An accessible toilet is available on the second floor. Because the exhibition floor and entrance conditions may change, confirm the route for the exhibition you plan to see.
Ask before photographing or touching any object, and leave space for other visitors in the small rooms. Dogs may be allowed at some events, but that is not a universal rule: check with the gallery before bringing a pet or assistance dog.
A place for a short exhibition visit or event
The gallery is small, so it can be busier during events or exhibition changes. If you plan an art tasting, purchase or group visit, contact the gallery in advance.
The best visit depends on your aim. One exhibition suits a short stop, while an art tasting or a purchase is a separate arrangement. Check the address, that day's hours and any event details before setting out.
