From fisheries palace to city cultural centre
The Fishermen's Culture and Sports Palace opened on 18 June 1982. It was then the city's largest building devoted to culture and sport and belonged to the Jūra fisheries production association.
The venue passed to Klaipėda City in 1996. After a difficult leasing period, Klaipėda Music Centre administered it from 2003, and an independent municipal Žvejų Rūmai cultural centre was established in 2005.
A large stage and two auditoriums
The venue states that it has one of Lithuania's largest stages, complete with an orchestra pit. It can therefore host symphony orchestras, ballet companies, large theatre productions, and technically demanding sets.
The Grand Hall has 1,050 seats and the smaller Theatre Hall has 114. When booking, check both the auditorium and seat number because scale and viewing experience differ considerably.
Resident groups, festivals, and civic events
Žvejų Rūmai is more than a receiving theatre. It supports community arts groups, cultural education, concerts, plays, civic celebrations, and Lithuania's Song Celebration tradition.

Tickets and arrival
Arrive 20-30 minutes early, particularly for a sold-out Grand Hall event. Ticket prices, box-office hours, age guidance, and door times depend on the organizer and should be checked in the current listing.
The building stands on Taikos Avenue in southern Klaipėda. Public transport can be easier than driving for major events; contact the venue in advance about wheelchair places or other access requirements.
